Academics

The courses are taught by instructors who are experts in their fields. All of our instructors are native English Speakers and possess degrees in their fields of expertise. Our courses model the professional methods, skills, norms, and intellectual habits each subject requires, with the curriculum culminating in College Board Advanced Placement (AP®),and university-level courses. Classes at The Learning Center OHS encourage a high academic standard; with a significant focus on personal skills, critical thinking, and responsibility.

  • The Learning Center’s curriculum offers a comprehensive online learning experience that is based on real-world skills and aligned to United States national standards.
  • Our courses are aligned to U.S. national standards in core subject areas – English Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies.
  • We offer World Language courses – Spanish I, II, and III, French I and II
  • Students unique interests are engaged through our courses, which include Art History, Art in World Cultures, communications, Digital Photography, Entrepreneurship, Creative Writing
  • We offer high-quality courses for use with Advanced Placement®exams. These courses ensure that students are prepared on test day with courses that address the standards defined by the College Board

  • U.S common core classes based on U.S. Common Core Standards
  • Advanced Placement beginning in 10th grade. AP is a program in the United States and Canada created by the College Board which offers college-level curricula and examinations to high school students. American colleges and universities grant placement and course credit to students who obtain high scores on the examinations.
  • Verbal and written communications that are held to university-level standards. Classes on structured, academic reading and writing are a mandatory component of the program.
  • Coursework that emphasizes critical thinking and depth of knowledge rather than rapid acceleration.
  • A high-school environment that keeps students engaged and challenged alongside equally talented and passionate peers.
  • A large selection of electives that are tailored to students individual intellectual and/or artistic pursuits.
