Our Unique Program focuses on developing critical reading and writing skills preparing them for the rigors of higher education.
This is a program where the theoretical meets the practical and offers students a well rounded educational experience.
Our courses offer practical and real life scenarios for students. We will give students tools to be successful.
Students need to know how to balance school with life so they can be successful. We have developed a current and holistic approach to education. Students will see the meaning behind the learning.
Mathematics
Mathematics is built for middle and high school students who want to strong reinforcement. TLC currently offers courses in:
- Pre-Algebra,
- Algebra 1A/B
- Geometry
- Trigonometry
- Physics
Each course is divided into A and B halves, with each half typically taking 4-7 months to complete. This depends on the student’s dedication to homework, their previous experience, and the difficulty of course material. Our instructors move at the pace, taking extra time to reinforce concepts as needed.
Writing Workshop
The Learning Center’s writing workshop (eight weeks, one hour per week) has qualified writing specialists train college-bound students to be prepared for college essay writing.
It will focus on the following types of essays:
- The argumentative
- Narrative
- Descriptive
- Expository
- Persuasive
- College application essay
- It also prepares students for the timed essay exams
