Student Advocacy

When a student encounters a barrier to their success, it is important to know to whom to turn. Our Student Advocacy Department is dedicated to helping students find solutions to their problems.

The Student Advocacy and Support Services problem-solver will:

  • Listen to the student and discuss his/her concerns, questions, or complaints, regarding whichever school they’re attending.
  • Provide information that will help resolve the student’s problem. Explain School Policies and Procedures and their effect on the student.
  • Follow-up on student concerns, problems, and complaints.

These services include:

  • Academic and administrative assistance by qualified personnel who are familiar with IBO MYP/DIPLOMA, Common Core U.S. State Standards, and MEDUCA academic and administrative policy.
  • Meeting with teachers and school administration to solve minor issues.
  • Communicating with teachers to ensure that the student is fulfilling academic requirements.
  • Monitoring the student’s Google Classroom to make ensure students are fulfilling the assignments posted by the teacher.
  • Review rubrics and lesson plans provided by the school’s teacher and administration.
  • Review and access teacher’s evaluation criteria to ensure fair grading practices.
